Snowed Villaluenga - Navazo Alto

After cross-country skiing on the summits of Sierra Nevada and hiking on the Dolomitas, at last,it came the hour to know the white blanket of Sierra de Grazalema. This time, it was my first time in the snowed Villaluenga Mountains

This short route of almost seven kilometers begins in Villaluenga. The first steps are through a stone path. On the left hand, it can see the road to Grazalema. In the firts meters, there are hardly snow.

After gaining a few meters, a soft white blanket appeares below our feets.

The cow stares at us totally surprised.

There are more and more snow, we can not stop enjoying of the landscape.

It is very easy to follow the path, just we have to follow the footsteps on the snow.

After a short but strong steep, we drive to the Navazo house.

We have to be focus on our steps. The rocks are slippery.

In the rocks an old tomb has been carved. The water is froozen.

Who am I?

In the horizon, a little shepherd hut.

After the flat, it comes going up. The path raises lead us to a meadow over which Navazo Alto is settled

Today there is no hurry. It is time to shape a snow ball and throw it

The snow covers the typical stones of Grazalema.

The meadow is behind us, Navazo Alto is our next goal. This is the highest point. The sights on the top have to be amazing.

The landscape leaves us speechless.

It is late and the sky is darking. There is no time to waste, we drive to Villaluenga. The south face has less snow.

With every meter that we go down the snow vanishes.

Down, the Village of Villaluenga, It is possible to glimpse its famous octogonal bullring. After a short but steep descent we will arrive at Villaluenga.

After seven kilometers and four hours we have finished this pretty circular route and our first experience through the snow of the Cadiz Mountain
