EurafricaTrail, hasta donde yo sé, la primera carrera de montaña por etapas que tiene lugar en dos continentes diferentes, Europa y África. Una etapa en el sur de Europa, en el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales, y la otra en el norte de África, en el Parque de Talassemtane.
Durante cuatro días participantes y organización compartiremos distintas vivencias, anécdotas, viaje en ferry, acampada, ..... Bueno, lo último no es del todo cierto, ya que algunos de nosotros dormiríamos en hotel.
EurafricaTrail, as far as I know, the first mountain race that is celebrated in two different continents, Europa and Africa. One stage on the south of Europe, and the other one in the north of Africa.
During four days, the runners and the organization staff will share feelings, anecdotes, trips on ferry, camping site, ... Well, the last thing is not tottally true, because of some of us would sleep on hotel.
El viernes, antes del descanso toca charla técnica de la etapa del sábado. En este caso había dos modalidades, unas de 27 kilómetros y otra de 50 kilómetros. Mi mujer, nuestra amiga Pilar y yo nos decantamos por la corta.
The friday, before sleeping, we have a briefing about the stage in Spain. In this case, there would be two modalities, one shorter race, about 27 kilometers and another one, 50 kilometers. My wife, Pilar and me would take part in the shorter one.
Ya no hay vuelta atrás, esa medalla es nuestro objetivo.
There already is no way back, that medal is our target.
Como siempre, ritual de fotos, saludos con viejos amigos, .... Y lo más importante, la línea de salida nos espera.
As always the ritual is repeated, pictures, talk with the old friends, ... And the most important thing, the starting line is waiting us.

Hoy toca cruzar el estrecho de Gibraltar. La organización ha desplegado un dispositivo importante para mover a casi 100 corredores y a otros tantos miembros de la organización. En Algeciras varios autobuses nos llevan al Puerto.
Today comes the time of crossing the Gibraltar Strait. The organization has deployed several buses to move runners from Algeciras to the port.
Después de un buen rato, ya estamos navegando. Al fondo La Roca.
After a time, we are already sailing. In the horizon, The Rock.
La naviera FRS nos agasajó con pastelitos. El ambiente a bordo era muy calido.
The FRS shipping line feasted with some cookies us. The vibe on board was very kindly.
Tras poco más de un ahora pisamos suelo Africano. Aquí la organización tenia preparado más de 15 microbuses que nos llevarían a Xauen.
After almost one hour, we stepped on Africa. The organization had prepared more tan 15 small buses that would bring us to Xauen.
Una vez en Xauen, teníamos la tarde para hacer turismo.
Once in Xauen, we had the rest of the day to wander on the blue streets of the village.
En un puesto callejero probamos unos exquisitos caracoles.
In a street stall, we tasted a delicious nails.
Tercer día, hoy toca enfrentarnos al Parque Nacional de Talassemtane. Antes de empezar la carrera la organización una pequeña charla acerca de la etapa del día
Third day, We have to struggle against the Talassemtane National Park. Before starting the race, we heard the last instructions about the today stage.
Múltiples corredores locales se apuntaron a la fiesta.
A lot local runners would take part in this race.

Los primeros metros corremos paralelos a la muralla de Xauen.
The Xauen walls lead our first steps.
El día va a ser muy caluroso.
The day is going to be really hot.
Yolanda no para de sudar, se le está haciendo muy duro el comienzo.
Yolaada does not stop sweating, the first kilometers are being very tough.
Estamos llegando al primer avituallamiento. Yolanda no se encuentra bien. Decide abandonar.
We are arriving at the first aid points Yolanda feels bad, She decides to give up.
Con mucha pena, seguimos el camino Pili y yo.

Los paisajes son preciosos.

La subida es una pesadilla.
The steep is a nightmare.
Por fin coronamos, ahora toca un rápido y divertido descenso.
At last we reach the peak, Now, there is a devilish downhill.
Nosotros en mitad de la carrera, y Zaid entrando en meta. No es justo.
While we were in the middle of the race, Zaid was crossing the arriving line. It is unfair.
Después de la bajada, nos topamos con una subida demoniaca.
After the downhill, we bump into a dammit uphill.

Al fondo del valle se vislumbra Xauen. No podemos parar mucho tiempo si queremos llegar antes de que cierren la meta.
Xauen is glimpsed in the bottom of the valley. We can not stop for a long timemuch time if we want to get there before the race overs.
Empezando la escalera que nos llevará al cielo.

Otra carrera terminada, esta vez Yolanda no pudo cruzar la meta, pero estoy totalmente seguro que el año que viene la cruzaremos juntos.
Another race that has been over. This time Yolanda could not cross the arriving line but I am totally sure that the next year we will cross it.
Como colofón de fiesta, la organización nos tenía preparado unos deliciosos platos marroquis.

La anécdota fue que una ambulancia nos llevo a un buen número de participantes al Hotel.
To go back to the Hotel a funny anecdote happened. An ambulance brought us to Xauen.

Sin más me despido, que la I EurafricaTrail fue una experiencia maravillosa. Dar las gracias a la organización por estos cuatros días tan buenos que hemos pasado y auguro que para el año que viene seremos muchos más corredores.
To sum up, the I EurafricaTrail has been a wonderful experience. Thanks to the organization by these four days so amazing that we have spent and I am totally sure that the next there will be many more runners.
